Privacy policy
SynthCity is operated by Helmion Ltd, United Kingdom. This notice covers synthcity.org, SynthCity Studio at daw.synthcity.org and our ChatGPT integration. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
Information we process
We process account details supplied when you sign in, including your name, email and account identifier; projects and audio you save to the cloud or share; connection permissions; and support messages you send us. Hosting and security systems also process technical information such as IP addresses, request details and errors.
Local projects, preferences and downloaded models can be stored in your browser. Clearing browser storage can remove local work. Cloud saving, collaboration, external integrations and some processing features send the information needed for that feature to a server. Microphone and MIDI access use your browser’s permission controls.
Why we use it
We use information to provide your requested account, storage, collaboration and music tools (performance of our service agreement); troubleshoot and protect the service (our legitimate interests); and meet legal obligations. Where a feature relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Sharing and connected services
Cloudflare provides hosting, storage and networking. Your chosen sign-in provider processes authentication. Other services you choose, including OpenAI for ChatGPT and Google Drive, process information under their own privacy policies. Essential cookies and browser storage keep you signed in and remember preferences. The site also uses Google Fonts on some pages.
Connecting ChatGPT lets it request project information and actions within the access you authorise. Tool results and requested audio previews may be returned to ChatGPT. Collaborators receive information according to project sharing settings. Anyone who obtains a temporary preview link can access it until it expires. Disconnecting an integration stops future authorised access; it does not remove copies already held by that service or other people.
Service providers may process data outside the UK. Cloudflare describes its international-transfer safeguards in its data processing addendum. Connected services describe their processing locations and safeguards in their own privacy notices. Contact us for details about transfers affecting your data.
Storage and retention
Browser data remains until you or your browser remove it. Cloud project and account data is retained to provide your account and saved work, until deleted or no longer needed for that purpose. Support and security records are retained as needed to resolve requests, investigate abuse and meet legal obligations. Temporary ChatGPT audio preview links expire after 15 minutes; expired preview files are scheduled for deletion.
Your choices and rights
You can manage browser permissions, export your work and disconnect integrations. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of personal data, or to object to or restrict processing where applicable. Some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data protection authority.
Updates
We will update this page when our practices change and provide additional notice for significant changes where required.
